1. Publication Frequency

Scientific Journal of Nursing Research follows a biannual publication schedule, releasing two regular issues annually, in April and October.

Each calendar year constitutes one publication volume, consisting of Issue 1 and Issue 2.

Regular Annual Publication ScheduleScheduled Publication Month
Issue 1 (No. 1) April
Issue 2 (No. 2) October
Total Two issues per year

The scheduled months represent the journal's regular publication periods. The actual publication date of each issue and its associated articles must be accurately recorded in the journal's official publishing system.

The journal aims to maintain continuity, punctuality, and consistency in publishing its scheduled issues. However, the completion of appropriate editorial, ethical, and production procedures remains a prerequisite for publication.

The editorial team is responsible for coordinating manuscript processing and production activities to support timely publication without compromising scholarly quality or the integrity of the peer review process.

The publication schedule is intended to provide authors, reviewers, readers, indexing services, and other stakeholders with clear information regarding the journal's regular publication cycle.

2. Year-Round Submissions

Scientific Journal of Nursing Research accepts manuscript submissions throughout the year, without restricting regular submissions to specific periods preceding the scheduled publication months.

Authors may submit original research articles and other manuscript types accepted within the journal's aims and scope at any time through the official online submission system.

All submitted manuscripts undergo the journal's established editorial procedures, which include:

  1. Initial administrative and editorial screening.

  2. Assessment of conformity with the journal's aims, scope, and author guidelines.

  3. Preliminary examination of manuscript originality and relevant ethical requirements.

  4. Double-blind peer review by qualified reviewers.

  5. Author revisions and further review when required.

  6. Final editorial evaluation and acceptance or rejection.

  7. Copyediting, proofreading, layout preparation, and publication scheduling.

The duration of manuscript processing may vary depending on the manuscript's scientific quality, complexity, reviewer availability, the extent of revisions required, and the completion of relevant editorial and ethical assessments.

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance, publication, or placement in a particular issue.

A manuscript submitted shortly before a scheduled publication month will not automatically be prioritized over manuscripts that have already completed the required editorial and review procedures.

All manuscripts must be evaluated fairly and consistently according to their scholarly merit and the journal's applicable policies.

Authors are encouraged to review the Author Guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

Detailed information concerning editorial evaluation and review procedures is available in the journal's Peer Review Process.

3. Scheduling Accepted Articles

Only manuscripts that have received formal final acceptance from the authorized editor and have successfully completed the necessary editorial and production requirements are eligible for assignment to a scheduled journal issue.

Acceptance of a manuscript and assignment to a publication issue are separate stages of the editorial process.

The allocation of accepted manuscripts to the April or October issue is determined by the editorial team based on the following considerations:

  • Completion of peer review: The manuscript has satisfactorily completed the required peer review process and all necessary revisions.

  • Editorial approval: The manuscript has received formal acceptance from the authorized editor.

  • Ethical compliance: Any outstanding concerns relating to research ethics, originality, authorship, competing interests, or publication integrity have been appropriately resolved.

  • Production readiness: Copyediting, proofreading, formatting, reference verification, and author proof corrections have been completed.

  • Publication queue: The manuscript's position in the production workflow and the availability of space within the scheduled issue have been considered.

  • Scientific relevance and balance: The allocation supports appropriate scholarly coverage and thematic balance within the journal's scope.

  • Metadata completeness: Required article information, including titles, author details, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, and applicable persistent identifiers, has been prepared and verified.

The editorial team will endeavor to publish accepted manuscripts in the earliest appropriate forthcoming issue, subject to the completion of all editorial and production requirements.

The time between final acceptance and publication may vary according to the journal's publication cycle, production capacity, and the number of accepted manuscripts awaiting publication.

Final acceptance does not constitute a guarantee of publication in the immediately forthcoming issue or on a specific calendar date.

The journal distinguishes between the manuscript processing timeline and the regular publication schedule.

The manuscript processing timeline concerns the assessment, peer review, revision, and preparation of an individual manuscript. The regular publication schedule identifies the months in which completed journal issues are planned for release.

These two processes are coordinated but must not be represented as identical or interchangeable.

4. Publication Dates and Issue Integrity

Scientific Journal of Nursing Research is committed to maintaining accurate, transparent, and verifiable publication records.

The official publication date of each issue and article must reflect the actual date on which the relevant scholarly content becomes publicly available through the journal's publishing platform.

Accuracy of Publication Records

The journal must not backdate articles, manipulate publication dates, or modify publication records to create a misleading impression of compliance with a scheduled publication period.

Publication metadata, including the publication year, volume, issue number, article identification details, and publication date, must be recorded accurately and maintained consistently across the journal website, article files, and relevant indexing or registration services.

Where appropriate, the journal should distinguish between manuscript submission, acceptance, and first publication dates to ensure transparency in the scholarly record.

Integrity of Completed Issues

Once a journal issue has been formally published and designated as complete, its scholarly contents should remain stable as part of the permanent publication record.

Research or review articles must not be added retrospectively to a completed issue merely to increase the number of articles, alter the composition of the issue, or create the appearance of an earlier publication date.

Manuscripts accepted after an issue has been finalized should ordinarily be assigned to an appropriate forthcoming issue.

Changes to published scholarly content must be handled through established post-publication procedures rather than undocumented replacement or alteration of the publication record.

Corrections and Post-Publication Updates

When errors, inaccuracies, or concerns are identified in published articles, the journal must assess them according to the nature and seriousness of the issue.

Where justified, appropriate post-publication actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, consistent with the journal's publication ethics and applicable correction and retraction procedures.

Such actions must be transparent, appropriately documented, and clearly linked to the affected publication.

The original scholarly record and relevant publication metadata must be preserved to the extent appropriate for maintaining the integrity and traceability of published research.

Online First and Issue in Progress

If SJNR introduces an Online First, Early View, or Issue in Progress publication model, the relevant procedures must be formally established and publicly communicated before implementation.

Articles published under such arrangements must have clearly identifiable publication statuses and accurate first-publication dates.

Content published ahead of formal issue completion must be distinguishable from content belonging to a finalized journal issue.

Any subsequent assignment to a completed issue must preserve the accuracy of the article's publication history and bibliographic metadata.

Unless such arrangements are formally introduced and announced, SJNR follows its established regular issue publication model.

5. Schedule Updates and Enquiries

Scientific Journal of Nursing Research recognizes that unforeseen editorial, technical, administrative, or ethical circumstances may occasionally affect the planned publication schedule.

In the event of a publication delay, the editorial team should communicate relevant information through the journal's official website or other appropriate communication channels.

Where reasonably possible, the journal should provide an updated publication estimate and ensure that authors with accepted manuscripts receive appropriate information concerning changes that may affect their publication arrangements.

Changes to Publication Frequency

Any decision to modify the regular publication frequency, scheduled months, or issue structure must be formally considered by the journal's editorial management and responsible publishing institution.

Changes to the established schedule must be announced publicly before implementation whenever practicable.

Such announcements should clearly identify:

  • The revised publication frequency or schedule.

  • The publication volume and year from which the changes will take effect.

  • Any relevant transitional arrangements for accepted manuscripts.

  • The implications for forthcoming issues and publication workflows.

Changes must be reflected consistently across relevant journal information pages, editorial policies, author guidance, and publication records.

A revision of the publication schedule must not be applied retrospectively in a manner that misrepresents previously published issues or publication dates.

Publication Information and Enquiries

Readers may consult the journal's official Archives to access published volumes and issues.

Authors who require information regarding manuscript status, editorial processing, acceptance, issue allocation, or publication scheduling may communicate with the editorial office through the journal's official Contact Page.

The editorial office is responsible for providing appropriate information regarding manuscript processing and publication arrangements while maintaining the confidentiality and independence of editorial decisions.

SJNR is committed to continuous improvement in publication management, timely dissemination of research findings, transparency of publishing information, and the preservation of a reliable scholarly publication record.
