Abstract
Body image adalah evaluasi pada ukuran tubuh, berat tubuh, dan kepercayaan diri yang mengarah pada penampilan fisik seseorang. Perempuan cenderung memiliki pandangan negatif terhadap body image dan memperhatikan berat badan mereka dibandingkan laki-laki. Kepedulian pada body image jadi alasan mahasiswa untuk menentukan makanan dan membaca label informasi nilai gizi yang tertera pada kemasan makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi korelasi antara citra tubuh dengan kebiasaan membaca label informasi gizi pada mahasiswa Program Studi Kesehatan Masyarakat di Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 70 responden dari mahasiswa prodi Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta yang diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data diperoleh menggunakan body shape questionnaire yang kemudian dianalisis dengan uji chi square. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap body image dan patuh dalam membaca label informasi gizi pada makanan yang mereka konsumsi, serta terdapat korelasi signifikan antara body image dengan perilaku membaca label informasi gizi pada mahasiwa jurusan kesehatan masyarakat Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, dengan p-value sebesar 0,02. Mahasiswa sebaiknya mulai membiasakan membaca label informasi nilai gizi untuk meningkatkan kesehatan secara keseluruhan. Sehingga dengan peningkatan kesehatan baik secara mental maupun fisik, mahasiswa dapat memiliki body image yang positif.
