Retraction Policy
Jurnal Laboratorium Khatulistiwa (JLK) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Retractions are issued to correct significant errors or to address ethical violations that compromise the validity and reliability of published articles.
Retraction may be considered in cases of, but not limited to:
- Plagiarism or significant overlap with previously published work
- Multiple or redundant publication
- Fabrication or falsification of data
- Unethical research practices
- Bogus or inappropriate authorship claims
- Serious errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions of the article
Retractions may be initiated by the authors, the editor, or the publisher, following a thorough investigation and in consultation with relevant members of the editorial board and, where appropriate, external experts.
JLK follows best practices and international standards, including the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), in handling retractions.
The retraction process is carried out as follows:
- Retraction Notice Publication
A retraction notice titled “Retraction: [Article Title]” will be published in a subsequent issue of the journal. The notice will clearly state the reason(s) for retraction and will be signed by the authors and/or the editor. - Linking and Transparency
In the electronic version, the retraction notice will be linked to the original article, and vice versa, ensuring transparency for readers. - Article Status and Access
The original article will remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record. However, it will be clearly marked as retracted. - Watermarking
The PDF version of the retracted article will include a visible watermark on each page indicating that the article has been “RETRACTED”. - HTML Version Handling
The HTML version of the retracted article may be removed or replaced with the retraction notice, depending on the journal’s technical and editorial considerations.
JLK ensures that all retraction processes are conducted transparently, fairly, and consistently, without compromising the integrity of the academic record.
