PENGARUH INTERVENSI PEMBERIAN MAKANAN TAMBAHAN TERHADAP PERBAIKAN STATUS GIZI BALITA UNDERWEIGHT

Abstract


Latar Belakang: Balita underweight berisiko mengalami gangguan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. Intervensi Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) lokal merupakan salah satu strategi untuk memperbaiki status gizi balita di tingkat masyarakat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak intervensi pemberian makanan tambahan terhadap perbaikan status gizi balita underweight. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-eksperimental menggunakan pendekatan one group pretest–posttest. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Dumai Timur dan Dumai Selatan pada 15 September 2025 hingga 13 Desember 2025. Sampel terdiri dari 33 balita usia 6 bulan sampai 5 tahun dengan status gizi underweight berdasarkan indikator BB/U (Z-score < −2 SD). Intervensi PMT lokal diberikan satu kali sehari selama 90 hari. Pengukuran status gizi dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired t-test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata berat badan dari 8,9 kg menjadi 9,8 kg (p < 0,05) dan tinggi badan dari 78,4 cm menjadi 80,1 cm (p < 0,05). Perbaikan signifikan terjadi pada indikator BB/U dan BB/TB, sedangkan perubahan TB/U belum signifikan. Kesimpulan: Pemberian PMT lokal selama 90 hari berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perbaikan status gizi balita underweight, terutama pada indikator berat badan.
