DETEKSI METASERKARIA PADA HOSPES PERANTA FASCIOLOPSIS BUSKI DI DESA PONDOK BABARIS KABUPATEN HULU SUNGAI UTARA

Abstract


Worm diseases are still common in Indonesian society, one of which is Fasciolopsiasis is caused by Fasciolopsis buski. Fasciolopsis buski is the giant trematode worm that lives and reproduces in the human gut. The life cycle of helminthiasis is still prevalent in Indonesian society is Fasciolopsis buski, which requires freshwater snails as the first intermediate host and aquatic plants as the second intermediate host. Hulu Sungai Utara district is an endemic area for Fasciolopsis buski. The tidal river that connects several villages is overgrown with aquatic plants commonly consumed by the community as vegetables for daily use. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of metacercaria in water spinach plants found in the river in Pondok Babaris Village, Babirik District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. It was performed in a Cross-Sectional manner based on the focal point determined by as many as 30 sampling points. Sample examination was carried out using the native method by blending and allowed to stand for 1x24 hours. The results showed 7 (23.3%) samples of water spinach plants found metacercaria.
