Abstract

Water is a basic need for life. Humans need a minimum of 2 liters of water per day to meet the requirements for proper and safe consumption. According to Permenkes Number 492/MENKES/Per/IV/2010, the mandatory parameters for microbiologically determining drinking water quality are the absence of Coliform and Escherichia coli in 100 ml of water. The presence of coliforms in drinking water indicates the presence of other pathogenic organisms. This research is a descriptive study using the Most Probable Number (MPN), whose results are compared with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 907/MENKES/SK/VII/2002. The results of this study found that the three samples (orange juice, mango juice, and avocado juice) each contained >2,400 CFU/100 ml, so the beverage products that are traded in the canteen of the Padang State University campus are not suitable and safe for consumption
